I mentioned in a previous post that I took some beautiful pictures of Winnie on my birthday. Well...here they are! I drive past this stretch of daises on Citation almost everyday. I had to get pictures of Winnie frolicking in the field of daises. Ever my diva, she had no problem with me snapping 100 pictures or so while she played.

Monkey See, Monkey Don't

While we were in Valdez, Winnie fell off the monkey bars and busted open her chin. Robert was happy to stitch her up. He has secretly been yearning to suture one of the kids. I can't believe we have made it almost 12 years!

Winnie was so brave. She cried a lot, but trusted her dad. I was so grateful he was able to take care of it so easily. Winnie is quite proud of them now and takes great pleasure in retelling the story to whomever will listen.

It's A Jungle Out There

This year's theme for Bear Paw was "It's a Jungle Out There" and we had a wild time! We decided to drive the barrel train again so I have to transform it a bit. We are not trying to win because the floats that come in first spend thousands of dollars on there floats. We put our money into the things we pass out. I spray painted the barrels green and wrapped them in paper vines. Then I made little palm trees for the backs of all the barrels (thanks youtube). I made little animal hats for all the kids and we had t-shirts made. We managed to come in 3rd place in our division!

We passed out 2000 toothbrushes and it still felt like there was not enough. Maybe next year.

Activity Day Camp

Last week Hannah attended an Activity Day Girls Camp for all the girls in our stake. Once again it was hosted by her Nana. It was a wonderful week. Hannah had a ton of fun and made many new friends!

Some activities included: journal making, potions class, t-shits, hiking, games, fire making, jewelry making, shooting, boating,  lashing, whittleing and tons more.

Hannah wrote:

The last night was the family dinner and skit night at Mirror Lake. Jack was used as a prop.

Hannah was the narrator. They reenacted the story of the girls who saved copies of the Book of Mormon from angry mobs.

A Good Hair Day

Winnie wanted me to do her hair in an "up-do" a couple days ago. She is such a cutie. She then insisted on taking a picture. I love this girl!

Bobby's Games

Bobby has really started to love playing games. This fishing game is a favorite. He gets a fish and then tells me what color it is. He then puts it into the corresponding boat. I love these times with him. He gets so excited and it is obvious that he loves learning. I look forward to teaching him so many things.

Birthday Post

Yesterday was my birthday. I am 36. It started out with Hannah handing me a moose poop necklace. The day did get better.

My Birthday activities included:

Taking gorgeous pictures of my Winnie in a stretch of wild daisies.
Going to my book club and enjoying good company and a delicious lunch.
Receiving a beautiful arrangement of roses from my sweetie along with Air Supply tickets...sweet!
A romantic dinner at Orso.
A trip to REI where I purchased this awesome orange trench coat.
A walk long part of the coastal trail.
Kissing my four babies good night.
Snuggling in bed with my best friend.

I have a beautiful life.

Summer Solstice

I decided that our ward needed to have a Relief Society Campout this year! I truly believe that we are a group of strong women capable of tackeling all that Alaska has to offer. So, I planned a campout for Summer Solstice on June 22nd.  We decided to open it up to daughters as well. I also believe that our daughters need to see us having a good time and enjoying sisterhood. It was an astounding success! 

Our campout was held at the Eklutna Lake campground. The weather was so beautiful--the best of the summer. My whole family came because Robert was one of the Priesthood bretheren there. 

One of my fears was not knowing who rented the campsite next to ours. I found it rather ironic that we were next to the Great Alaskan Brewers. They actually turned out to be fine camping neighbors.

We had a potluck dinner. Angie brought this cute watermelon critter she made.
