The girls and I went and got our hair done for the start of school. We had a fun afternoon out. Lunch, Shopping and Hair were all in order.

Valdez 2014

Valdez was fun as always this summer. It was especially fun because the Astles joined us. We were there Wednesday through Monday and then the men stayed on for a week of scout camp. 

It was really fun seeing a black bear at the fish hatchery. He stayed and ate fish after fish. It was awesome because we were a safe distance away. We watched him for about 45 minutes. We also did some pink fishing and caught pink after pink. Every member of our family caught one! I caught about 30!

On the drive home Liz and I stopped at Worthington Glacier and made our annual trek up there.

Fishing and Falling In

My dad took Mitch and I on a halibut charter for our birthdays this year. It has been a very long time since the last time I went on a charter. I had fun but was so sad when a week later our freezer got left open for a week while we went to Valdez and we lost all of my share of the fish!

When we went down to the Kenai River this summer both Jack and Winnie fell in the river. Jack just fell in a shallow little area. but Winnie fell off the grates into the rushing river! She was protected and brave. She grabbed onto the grate and held on until someone pulled her out a few minutes later.

More Summer Favs

Lynne came over one day and gave us rock painting lessons. It was such a fun afternoon with the kids doing something creative.
