Bear
Yes. We truly are in Alaska. Believe it or not these photos were taken today outside our front door! We are staying at Robert's parent's house which is rather high up on a mountain, so they do have the occasional bear visit. This is the closest I have ever been to a brown bear though. He was not afraid of us at all and didn't even flinch at the dog barking wildly at him. Winnie kept telling me "he is a nice bear". I told her "No he is not a nice bear, bears like to eat little girls". The last thing I need is for her to go out and try to pet the "nice bear"!
So I Married an Orthodontist
The past couple of weeks have been such a whirlwind. I can hardly believe we are done with school and now living in Alaska. I will post more about our Alaskan adventures in a later blog. But for now I want to post about my amazing husband. He is so great . He has worked so hard the past seven years and I am so proud of him. He worked so hard, but he always put me and the girls first. He has had to pull more than his share of the weight the past couple of years because of my health issues and he has done it wonderfully. How did I manage to marry the most wonderful man in the universe? Last Friday night was graduation night. The event was held at the Jefferson Club in downtown Louisville. It was very fitting to be sitting on the top floor overlooking Louisville on the last night of lives in Kentucky. The ceremony was great, but extremely long. There was an hour long "roast" that ended up being a two-hour roast because of technical difficulties. They spoofed Robert on his sleeping, eating, fixing and dumpster diving...sooo funny. We left the graduation at 11:30.
The next day we flew out and said goodbye to our Old Kentucky Home. As a side note we had the most awesome neighborhood ever. So many wonderful neighbors. Our fantastic neighbors/friends, the Kotheimers, made three trips to the airport with us the day we left!
So here we are having been in Alaska for a week. We are finally home, but feel as though we are away from home at the same time.
